Contrasts and counterpoints are fascinating. That an object can house qualities
that, in different ways, are opposing each other. It can be beautiful and appalling,
frightening and appealing.
I often use the traditional jewellery materials because they plead to our sense of value.
Jewellery pieces made of metal has the capacity to outlive most of what we can put it through.
I like the thought of it being lost, found, re-made, inherited and worn during a life time – that
the piece of jewellery is forever with a life span longer and separate from mine.
I work mainly with jewellery art, but I also do commissioned work in both silver and gold and
occasionally repair work.
