Born in 1981

Carolina Gimeno has been creating her jewellery as well as wearable objects , illustrations, performance and art projects over the last 15 years.

Being part of the third generation of a family of jewellers and tailors, her experience with jewellery making started at a very young age. Since 2002 she was studying diverse areas of craft art of making jewellery in Barcelona.

In 2010 she completed her Senior Technical Degree in Jewellery and Design at Massana School, Barcelona, having as mentor Ramón Puig Cuyàs. The same year she went back to Chile to finish her studies in Art started in 1999, she got her Bachelor in Fine Arts at UPLA University, Chile in 2011 with honours. In 2014 she completed her Master Degree in Jewellery and Corpus at Ädellab – Konstfack, University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm, Sweden, having as professor Karen Pontoppidan. The same year her MA Degree Project Portable Pleasures was awarded with the “Konstfack Award” Stipendium.

Her work has been in several international exhibitions like Think Twice, MAD Museum of Art and Design of New York (2010), In Line in Metal , Aaron Faber Gallery, New York, USA (2011), Talente, Munich, Germany (2011), Beijing International Biennale, China (2013), to just name a few.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Germany, Nederland, United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Belgium, Estonia, Egypt, Spain, Chile, Mexico, China, Canada and USA.

Her jewellery has been featured in several publications being part of privet and public collections. She has been invited to give lectures and workshops about Contemporary Jewellery Internationally.

Co-founder and active member of the International Jewellery’s collective BÓRAX08001 since 2010.
