Sari Räthel is a jewellery designer, exploring the body, physically and intellectually, through adornments, objects and collages. Her passion lies in working collaboratively with other artists and designers from different fields such as fashion and architecture and is always keen to expand the mediums she works in. Born in Germany, Sari grew up in a jewellery family business where the first seeds have been planted to pursue a career in jewellery. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Jewellery & Gemstone Department in Idar-Oberstein she moved to London to work for the Jewellery Designer Scott Wilson. In June 2016 she gained her Master of Art in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art in London and won the Best Work In Jewellery Award by Theo Fennel, the ITS Jewellery Award in Italy and is now selected for Talente 2017 in Munich with her degree collection. Most recently Sari Räthel co-founded the jewellery label Räthel & Wolf with Ricarda Wolf. As a team they create a portfolio of experimental work around the body and are interested in new ways of wearing jewellery, exploring gender roles and adorning unusual body parts.
